McAfee SecurityCenter is a powerful security solution that allows users to monitor their computer's security status and to know instantly whether their computer's virus, spyware, e-mail, and firewall protection services are up-to-date. It combines a set of must-have security services with simplified access to McAfee´s security producs. Moreover, it summarizes the PC's security vulnerability on a green, yellow and red scale: ‘green’ indicates a very secure, protected PC, ‘orange’ indicates a PC with partial protection, and ‘red’ at risk. The McAfee SecurityCenter interface allows current subscribers to dynamically access, manage, and configure their security software programs. .Most McAfee SecurityCenter builds offer trial subscriptions to McAfee’s security software, including McAfee® VirusScan®, McAfee® Personal Firewall Plus, McAfee® Privacy Service, and McAfee® SpamKiller®. In addition to review user' computer´s protection status, it also automatically download and install updates for the registered programs and fix potential protection problems. It also offer many other useful tools such as a recent events viewer which shows you a list of all the events that occurred; a network manager that allows users to remotely monitor the protection status of each managed computer in their network, and fix reported security vulnerabilities on those computers; a set of maintenance options like QuickClean (which empties the Recycle Bin and deletes temporary files, shortcuts, lost file fragments, registry files, cached files, cookies, browser history files, among others) a disk defragmenter and a task scheduler. The program generates security alerts which notify users about emergency virus outbreaks and other important security related messages. |
